Our Team: Komlan Abalo Bral – Founder and Lead Educator

Komlan Abalo Bral is a distinguished advocate for inclusive and quality education with over a decade of experience in regional and national education strategies. His career is marked by a commitment to empowering youth, especially women and girls, through innovative approaches in Education for Sustainable Development and social innovation projects.

Komlan has successfully raised funds for pioneering educational initiatives that incorporate evidence-based teaching methods and emphasise social and emotional learning. His work includes a recent role as a Scholar and Fellow at the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens, where he designed and implemented a micro-SDG project focused on foundational literacy and numeracy skills. As a Youth in Development Program Fellow with Impact Toolbox, he has honed skills in creating impactful social ventures and leading educational transformations.

With a Master of Education in Psychology and Didactics, and various certifications in social innovation and civic engagement, Komlan brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to Speech Spark. His leadership and vision are central to our mission of transforming educational outcomes for students across Togo.

At Speech Spark, our team extends beyond formal roles to include a remarkable group of community teachers who volunteer their time and expertise. These dedicated educators play a crucial role in our efforts to improve education in rural areas. By guiding students through personalised learning sessions outside regular school hours, they help bridge educational gaps and support students in catching up on essential skills.

Their commitment to using the Teaching-at-the-Right-Level (TaRL) methodology ensures that each student receives tailored support according to their individual needs. The dedication of these local volunteers is vital to the success of our project and reflects the community-driven spirit of Speech Spark.
